Introduction
To enable the department to cope up with the changing needs of forestry technology, environmental regime and paradigm of sustainable development, regular training module for not only its field staffs and Officers but also of important stakeholders like JFMC/EDC/Villagers (who play a vital role in protection and conservation of Forests of Jharkhand), is imparted at the 3 established Training schools namely, State Forest Training Institute, Mahilong (Ranchi), Forest Training School Chaibasa and Forest Training School Hazaribagh.

Training activities for the financial year 2022-23

Forester & Forest guard Training School, Mahilong, Ranchi

6 months compulsory training for 80 forest guards.
Training of LDC/UDC staff for noting, drafting, accounting etc.
Training on hospitality etiquettes to fourth class/temporary staffs.
Training cum tour programme of forest guards and other stakeholders.
Capacity building cum training of forest officers and other stakeholders.
Capacity building of JFMC and villagers for forest based livelihood.
Training for Certified Nature guide to JFMC/EDC members.

Forester & Forest guard Training School, Chaibasa

6 months compulsory training for 40 forest guards.
Training of LDC/UDC staff for noting, drafting, accounting etc.
Training cum tour programme of forest guards and other stakeholders.
Capacity building of JFMC and villagers for forest based livelihood.

6 months compulsory training for 80 forest guards.

Infrastructure

All the three training institutes are equipped with state of art infrastructure to successfully conduct training modules of Forest guards, Officers and other stakeholders.

Academics

Classs room teaching sessions on various subjects related to forestry are carried out by all the three forest training schools in Jharkhand. Various subjects in which classes are carried out are listed as below:

Forest Survey & Engineering
Forest utilization
Wildlife protection
Accounts.

Apart from classroom sessions training in drone handling, car driving, snake rescue operation etc. are also included in curriculum of trainee forest guards in forest training school.
