To conserve & protect the PAs 9 eco-sensitive zones have been notified in (enclave villages) and around the PAs to an extent of 0-10 kms. Betla Nation Park, Palamu Wildlife Sanctuary & Muhadanr Wildlife Sanctuary have been enshrined in a common eco-sensitive zone. Similarly Parasnath & Topchanchi Wildlife Sanctuaries have been enclaved in a common eco- sensitive zone. The state forest department shall prepare a zonal master plan for each notified eco- sensitive zone with the consultation of Environment, Forests & Wildlife, Agriculture & Horticulture, Revenue, Urban Development, Tourism including eco-tourism, Rural Development, Tourism including eco-tourism, Rural Development, Irrigation & Flood control, Municipal & Urban Development and State Pollution control Board. The Zonal master plan shall regulate development of Eco- sensitive zone and adhere to prohibited and regulated activities as listed in their respective notifications. It will ensure and promote eco-friendly development for security of local communities livelihood. The zonal master plan shall be co-terminus with the Regional Development Plan. For effective monitoring of the provisions of the ESZs notification there shall be formed a Monitoring Committee for each ESZ comprising concerning Forest Officer and members from state pollution Board, NGO, experts in Ecology & Biodiversity under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of the respective Division.
